Room Service

I don't think I've had a thai meal since I've been here. Probably about time to give everything a try! Came across this place called room service, which was quite an interesting name to use.

Room Service
The decor was amazing... highly impressive! However upon entering... the customer service was a total disgrace. I really do wonder if they know how to do business at all. Pretty rude, and i don't think its appropriate to leave guests standing there even tho half the place is empty!

Lychee Sangria
I ordered a sangria to start. To make it even better was that it was a lychee sangria! Must say, wasn't overpowered with the alcohol, and the fruit flavours were amazing. Definitely the best sangria I've had to date!

Iced Coffee
My friend ordered the iced coffee, and it came out with a nice retro design. Must say, the presentation of the drinks and decor definitely make up for the lack of service.

Kani Summer Roll
Some appetisers to start, and we chose the kani summer roll. Japanese crab meat, tofu, mint, lettuce, cucumber, carrot and vermicelli over black hoisin sauce. Felt too much hoisin sauce was covered that over powered it slightly. Especially when it was all on the top. Might have been nicer if it was evenly spread across the roll, but it was still good nonetheless. Presentation was reasonable.

Shrimp Parcel
Crispy blanketed shrimp and garlic chicken served with plum sake dipping sauce. Definitely a nice twist and great flavours. Gives off the impression that it's like a spring roll, but an actual prawn instead.

Curry Puff
This was a small serving of siamese pastry stuffed with grounded chicken, potato, green pea paste and yellow curry sauce serve with thai chutney. Never been a great fan of curry puffs, but this wasn't too bad. Worth giving a try with the chutney as it balances off the flavours nicely.

Chicken Green Curry
I opted for a chicken green curry. Slightly disappointing it wasn't spicy enough, but the flavours were definitely great. Nothing to be disappointed with, and the rice came in two cubes with a splash of black sesame on top! The presentation touches have definitely been great.

Room Service Pad Thai
Totally not what you'd expect of a pad thai. The presentation was definitely a surprise. What was more surprising was this also came with rice!! Came with a nice variety of mixed seafood and meats. The best bit, it came with fresh mangoes infused with coconut beet sauce. This was all wrapped up in a nice egg white omelet.

Now this place is definitely worth going to (even with the lack of service). The food and ambiance more than makes up for the service. You are going to place for the food, and this definitely meets all those requirements. Would possibly say this is one of the best thai places in nyc.
