Ellen's Stardust Diner

As one of the must visit places while in ny... had to pay visit here over dinner. A place where all the waiters and waitresses are singers - those that haven't quite made broadway (or glee for that matter). Some did manage to make it onto american idol however...

Ellen's Stardust Diner
Some of the singers are quite... eccentric. Putting in crazy amounts of effort while performing... jumping up on the ledges between tables... even inviting customers to go on "stage" and sing/dance with them.

Ellen's Stardust Diner

With an "entertaining" 1950's retro theme... definitely makes it interesting. Although I'm here for dinner, the main attraction is watching them perform as opposed to the food.

Be Bop a Lula Burger
I chose a standard burger... although every burger had a fun name. The Be Bop a Lula came with 8oz of beef, topped with american cheese, bacon, grilled onions and sauteed mushrooms. I still love it how you can decide how your patty is done.

White Russian Shake
In addition, the shakes were something that was recommended. I tried the white russian shake - once again, overfilled with alcohol. It didn't look or taste as great as I had expected either.

Banana Split
And a dessert to end off... Didn't look all that appetising either...
But at the end of the day, I'm here to experience the entertainment from these aspiring broadway singers. Definitely something "entertaining" I must say - less so about the food and drinks. Funnily enough, I would definitely recommend people to come here as tacky as it is... just don't hold too much hopes or expectations of the food. The waiters and waitresses performances should make up for the food however.
