Trinity Place

A place that's physically just 2 mins away from home, was recommended to give this place a try as it had some decent food (and of course, just how close it was). It's a bar and restaurant with the bar at the front, and restaurant at the back.

The name trinity place is fitting, give that it's located in the historic trinity building. What's special is the 35 tonne bank vault doors built back in 1904 that welcomes you to the place. A lot of the decorations were hand crafted in Ireland (given the Irish chef).

Trinity Place
The dining room has a nice chandelier right in the middle. Apparently the mirrors used is the same as that in the US bank previously - and the elevator houses all the wine selections.

Ahi Tuna and Soba Noodle Salad
It was a late night after-all, and I decided to skip the entrees (or appetisers as they're better known here). I chose the Ahi Tuna and Soba Noodle Salad - psychologically healthy! =) This was pepper crusted ahi tuna, soba noodles, pickled carrot and daikon radish, scalliion cucumber, edamame covered with soy sesame dressing.

I probably felt that the tuna was a little on the thin side, and the soba wasn't cold enough. Dressing was sufficient - but I've never been a great fan of carrot, especially pickled ones. Overall, relatively satisfying.

Local Peach Tart
To compensate for skipping the entree meant getting some dessert! What stood out was the local peach tart with port wine syrup, and tahitian vanilla ice cream. As always the portion size is a little on the large side!

The syrup wasn't over powering and there was plenty of peaches topping off the tart. Tahitian vanilla ice cream gave a nice cool balancer to the warm tart.

Trinity place wasn't a place that I expected to produce some sort of mini fine-dining experience. Felt a lot high class than it really is. Given where it is, probably will go back and try other food on their menu. Was recommended to sit at the bar and go for its bar snacks instead!
