Serendipity... an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident
On an early (well not so early) wet morning, was asked if I would like to join for brunch with a friend. She spoke of this place with a lot of hype - an although I haven't seen the movie, was something definitely to try.

Serendipity 3 Mugs |
Was told to expect some sort of "wait" before getting there, but given the rainy weather - it looked like it might be our lucky day... there was no queue outside =) Then we got inside... such a small place, yet packed with so many people. Was told that it would be approx 45mins to 1 hour wait... at least even for a small table. Sigh... At the front of the store, there's a mini-shop to keep myself amused. Loving the artwork and designs so far! Wonder how long I can last until the table is ready!

Serendipity Sundaes |
It has been said, this place is famous for its desserts... and nothing better than to stare at the recipe books in anticipation...
|
Serendipity 3 |
Upon sitting down, must say it was decked out quite... impressively... nothing to what I'd expect. Service was nice and friendly (although it was hard to get someone's attention - but when we did... it was fun!)
|
Golden Opulence Sundae |
Of course, the first thing you look at in the menu is the dessert. What better thing to catch your eye than a Guinness World Record $1000 sundae!! No... unfortunately I couldn't afford to order this... maybe next life
|
Frrrozen Hot Chocolate |
The famous and registered trademarked Frrrozen Hot Chocolate of Serendipity 3. What I didn't know was that this is generally something to be shared... Noticed the other tables having 4 straws in it for a reason. Oooopss...
|
Frrrozen Hot Chocolate |
I love the "overflowing" concept done deliberately... all of it caught below by a nice plate. Even that had chocolate flakes!!! And how it tastes? Could definitely say it was one of the best I've ever tried. I've never been a fan of whipped cream yet I could keep going back on this with the chocolate. And some advice, keep going and don't stop - or you might not finish it...
|
Footlong Hotdog with Cheese and Bacon |
Who would of thought this would be a way to eat a hotdog... with knife and fork. But boy, this has been the best hotdog I've had in town!! It doesn't look too big to be really filling - but it did fill me up (either that or it might have been the frozen chocolate!)
|
Hamburger with Chilli |
My friend ordered the hamburger with chilli. Wow doesn't the chilli look and taste great!?!?!
|
Fresh Fruit Sundae |
By this point in time, we were all literally really stuffed... barely just finished the frozen hot chocolate with a bit of a struggle. But the waiter came back and tempted us with dessert. Given that the original aim was to have dessert, had to fight the pain barrier to order it...
And wow... once again another oversized serving... overflowing sundae and raspberry sauce... yummmmm. Although this wasn't our first choice sundae - the thought of trying to finish a rich chocolate, or strawberry fields... was a little too much. At least psychologically, fruit should be easier to be eaten.
This place is definitely one of the highlights I've been to here. At least now I know you can book in advance and not have to wait an hour!! Now it'll be on to watching the movie and then coming back for more
