Le Pain Quotidien

Another cold morning (then again when isn't it cold??)... and another adventure. On the way before a stroll into Central Park, found a local bakery. I've never heard of this place before, so I didn't know what to expect but with the amount of people in there - I'm sure it couldn't be too bad.

A little further research into this place - Le Pain Quotidien - shows that it also exists in Sydney! Had a nice experience here, and would be nice to find the place back home to see if I can get the same feel and ambience.

Mocha
A nice mocha... with lots of overflowing chocolate sauce. Of course, lots and lots of foam until the real coffee hits.

Soft Boiled Eggs and Toast
So much for the toast being toasted... but it was definitely a nice touch to have different types of  bread to taste =) Also nice of them to have cut some of the bread into strips, perfect for dipping!!

The eggs however... one was soooo underdone that even just trying to crack open the top of the egg caused some problems...

Belgian Waffle
Belgian waffle... can you ever go wrong with these?

Not sure what type of bread this is... but a whole crate of them together produced a great smell to start the morning =)

Food is one thing... wouldn't say its exceptional, but I really like the special touches (like have the menu holder put into one of their breads!). Service on the other hand, totally disappointing... but maybe it's just a normal thing here - as I've yet to find exceptional/decent service. I guess one of the things - the "compulsory" service/tips makes staff less willingly to put any effort in...
