Becco

Becco is an italian restaurant that has been around for a little while, most notably famous for its extensive wine menu. The main thing to note, is that all the wine on the menu is only 25 a bottle! As a nice catch up dinner with a few colleagues, this was one of the perfect places to go to indulge in some much needed wines.

Costoletta di Vitello Alla Joe
To go with the wines, was of course what to decide to eat. There was of course the recommended wine the waiter provided, and to go with the red wines - I opted with costoletta di vitello alla joe. Also known as Joe's veal chop, grilled with garlic mashed potatoes, caramelised shallots and sauteed asparagus. Sizing was nothing like I expected, and this was definitely as large cut of veal chop!! Beautifully grilled to a medium, there was plenty of juice and flavour. A nice red meat to suit the red wines.

Dessert Platter
To end off, was a selection of desserts encompassing a chocolate mouse cake, italian cheesecake with strawberries, panna cotta with seasonal fruit and some mixed sorbets.

The food was surprising nice, but of course the main course was all about the wines. A place to definitely go back to for some nice casual meals =)
