Dumpling Man

Come to think of it, I don't think I've actually had any dumplings since I've been here. A colleague brought up this place saying we should try, after being given a recommendation.

Dumpling Man
A really really small joint, probably only seating for maybe 10? Sitting on the bar stools in front of the open kitchen, you can see them making the dumplings right in front of you. Quite a few cute tshirts (worn by the staff), and for sale over the walls =)

Vegetarian, Chicken, Shrimp and Pork Dumplings
With only 4 items on the menu (vegetarian, chicken, shrimp and pork) and the choice of steamed or seared, I ordered all 4. The vegetarian in green, somehow didn't taste very vegetarian. It just didn't taste well overall... especially with what appeared as some "mystery meat" inside it. The chicken was a little better. The shrimp was the best of the lot, but it was more of a corn dumpling with a bit of shrimp. With only the pork being chosen as the seared, it gave it a bit of different texture to the rest.

A relatively cheap meal, but in terms of dumpling standards, could have been much better. These are meant to be northern style dumplings, and they do appear that way but I've had better, just not in ny. Maybe this is the best here... It did come with a decent variety of sauces - especially the vinegar, but it does really lack the true dumpling sauces available at more traditional places.
